The Brunei Darussalam Scholarship
For students wishing to study overseas, the Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship for 2024–2025 is a fully funded program. Both undergraduate and graduate work might be supported by this grant. Housing expenses, tuition exemptions, and a BND $650 monthly stipend are all covered by this scholarship.
The Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship is open to international students who want to study undergraduate and graduate degrees at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Politeknik Brunei (PB), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). These fully funded scholarships aim to attract outstanding overseas applicants.

Requirements
- Application forms can be downloaded from the following link: APPLICATION FORM 2023/2024
- The application forms must be properly filled out and approved by the National Focal Point of the applicant’s nation or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A security clearance statement, or a report attesting to the applicant’s exoneration from all civil and criminal accusations, must be submitted by the applicant’s National Security Agency(ies) or Police Station.
- Completed application forms are to be emailed to the following address: applybdgs2022@mfa.gov.bn
- Applicants applying to Universiti Brunei Darussalam must also complete an online application through https://apply.ubd.edu.bn/orbeon/uis-welcome/.
- The completed application forms and certified copies of pertinent certifications and documents must be sent by February 15, 2024, at 1600 hours (Brunei time), at the latest.
- In order to be evaluated for English, Malay, or Arabic language competency, a candidate may be asked to take a written exam and show up for an interview at a location(s) chosen by the institutions offering the programs.
- The Brunei Darussalam government has the power to refuse any application. The choice of candidates is made once and for all. The judgment made will not be subject to any objections or inquiries. Only those who are accepted will receive an email notification.

Advantages of the scholarship
- waiver of tuition costs for the duration of the program, including acceptance, exam, registration, and orientation expenses;
- An economy class ticket to Brunei Darussalam from the scholarship recipient’s home country or place of origin before the course begins, as well as an economy class ticket back from Brunei Darussalam to the home country or place of origin after the course is finished;
- A monthly personal allowance of BND$500.00
- A monthly meals allowance of BND$150.00
- An annual book allowance of BND$600.00
- Accommodation at the residential college of the University/ Polytechnic;
- Baggage allowance up to the following maximum quantity for the scholarship recipient’s personal belongings that must be shipped back to his home or place of origin when the program is over:
- BND$250.00 to a country within the ASEAN region; or
- BND$500.00 to a country outside the ASEAN region;
- complete insurance protection for the term of the scholarship. It is recommended that the winner of the scholarship, at his own expense, secure supplemental insurance before departing for Brunei Darussalam and throughout the scholarship period.
