Launch of the HZDR Summer Study Program
Every summer, from July through September, the German Centre (HZDR) provides opportunity to visit Germany, participate in events, and join research groups. This opportunity, which is funded in Germany and facilitates the acquisition of a Schengen visa, is open to anyone.
The researchers at this Centre plan your project, supervise it, and provide you with guidance throughout. A range of lectures and lab visits that acquaint you with the many departments of their research Centre round out the program. By taking part in this program, you will advance multidisciplinary and worldwide scientific research.

Requirements
- You are a student of natural sciences (physical or biological sciences) with a master’s degree or diploma in related fields.
- Ideally, you have a bachelor’s degree. For diploma programs, you must get verification that you have completed the third year of study prior to the approaching summer.
- Your grades and a letter of recommendation from a scientist who is familiar with your work and qualified to assess it can serve as evidence of your strong academic record.
- You need to have a student ID that is valid for the duration of the program and be enrolled in the university.
- You are able to participate in all program activities because you have a strong command of the English language.
- The program is not open to applicants with a master’s degree who are not enrolled in another master’s course or PhD candidates.
- Â The summer student program is not open to students who were under contract at HZDR on July 1st of the targeted year.
