Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for the World Bank Fellowship program, prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

Candidates must be nationals of a World Bank Group (WBG) member nation; applicants from developing countries are given preference.

  • Language:

Applicants must possess strong English language skills.

  • Education:

Candidates should be engaged in a Ph.D. program in economics or a comparable discipline, or they should have completed a master’s degree.

  • Age:

Applicants must not have exceeded 35 years of age as of June 30th, 2023.

  • Relocation:

If chosen, candidates must be able to move to Washington, D.C. for the duration of the fellowship.
