1. Algoma University Entrance Scholarships
To be eligible for the following rewards, overseas students must have a temporary resident visa as a student under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada on the first day of school.
The Entrance Scholarship is open to all students, including university transfers, second-degree students, college diploma graduates, and college transfer students, who must pay the international differential cost.
Before beginning their studies at Algoma University, students must successfully complete all required requirements within the academic year.
A scholarship offered on an international scale is never postponable. The student must accept the terms and conditions of admission, as well as the scholarship awarded for the given year. Students who enroll in the Winter or Spring terms will be considered for awards in the next academic year because these scholarships cover two semesters in one academic year (Fall/Winter).
Only undergraduate degrees are eligible for entry scholarships.
2. Chancellor’s Award: $5,000 Renewable
The Chancellor’s Award is a $5,000 grant every academic year for international secondary school graduates starting their first year of undergraduate studies at Algoma University. To be eligible, candidates must be full-time students (15 credits per term during the Fall/Winter semesters).

3. President’s Award: $2,500 Non-Renewable
The President’s Award is a $2,500 admission award for international secondary school graduates starting their first year of undergraduate studies at Algoma University. To be eligible, candidates must be full-time students (12 credits per term during the Fall/Winter semester).
4. Dean’s Award: $1,000 Non-Renewable
The Dean’s Award is an admission award offered to international high school graduates entering their first year of undergraduate studies at Algoma University. This scholarship is worth $1,000. To be eligible, candidates must be full-time students, taking at least 12 credits per term during the Fall/Winter semesters.
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must have a past academic record with a minimum B+ average (or equivalent in their home country). This academic achievement is necessary for candidacy for the Dean’s Award.
5. Award of Excellence: $500 Non-Renewable
The Award of Excellence is a scholarship given to international high school graduates entering their first year of undergraduate study at Algoma University. This admission scholarship is worth $500. To be eligible, candidates must be full-time students, taking at least 12 credits per term during the Fall/Winter semesters.
To be eligible for this award, students must have earned a minimum B average (or equivalent in their home country) on their prior academic record. This academic performance is required for consideration for the Award of Excellence.

- International students competing for the following awards must have a temporary resident visa under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada on the first day of classes.
- All students who must pay the international difference fee, including university transfers, second-year students, college diploma graduates, and college transfer students, are eligible for the Entrance Scholarship.
- Students must fulfill all of their qualifying prerequisites during the academic year before beginning courses at Algoma University.
- Under no circumstances will international scholarships be postponed. Students must accept the admission terms and conditions, as well as the scholarship awarded for the year in which the offer is issued.
- As scholarships require enrollment over two semesters within an academic year (Fall/Winter), students joining in the Winter or Spring term will be evaluated for awards in the following academic year.
- Entrance scholarships are for undergraduate degree programs only.
