Applications are now open for Royal College of Arts RCA scholarships in the UK for 2025. The RCA is dedicated to celebrating diversity, fighting discrimination, and promoting equal opportunity for all.
The Royal College of Arts scholarship program is expanding, with more than 400 financial grants available for the 2024/25 academic year. These grants benefit students in financial need as well as individuals from underrepresented groups, such as students with disabilities and refugees and asylum seekers.

Benefits Of The Royal College Of Arts RCA Scholarship:
The Royal College of Art (RCA) offers a variety of scholarships to help students finance their studies. These scholarships can cover a range of expenses, including:

- Contributions to living costs
It’s important to note that most scholarships are for UK (Home) students, but there are also scholarships available for international students. The eligibility criteria and application procedures vary for each so it’s important to visit the RCA website for more details.

How To Apply
Round 1 and 2 offer holders for MA, MFA, MDes, MRes, MArch, MEd, and MPhil programs were invited in April to answer the following scholarship application questions:
Section 1: Priority Eligibility
Means-Tested Funding or Scholarships: Have you received means-tested student funding or scholarship support at another higher education institution? Evidence could include your Student Finance or scholarship confirmation.
Government Benefits: Have you received any means-tested government benefits within the past five years? Confirmation of benefits payments, a letter from the Department of Work and Pensions, or another similar government document could all be considered evidence.
Financial Hardship: Have you ever faced unavoidable financial difficulties? Bankruptcy documentation, bank or credit card statements, and credit/loan agreements could all be considered evidence. (Note: Applicants outside the UK can offer evidence about their home country’s economic and political condition.)
Do you have a handicap or a chronic health condition that significantly and long-term impairs your capacity to perform daily activities? A medical or diagnostic report, as well as another official document outlining the nature of your impairment or health condition, could be considered evidence.
Refugee or Asylum Status: Are you currently or have you ever been granted refugee or asylum status? A copy of your Application Registration Card (ARC) or papers granting permission to stay could serve as evidence.
Care Experience: Would you consider yourself care experienced? Documentation from social care or the local authority could be used as evidence.
Primary Caring Responsibilities: Are you the primary caregiver for a dependant or another family member? A Child Benefit Letter, Tax Credits, or another official document that demonstrates your status could all be considered evidence.
Career transition or Break: Do you see this as a career transition, or are you returning to work after a professional break or parental leave? A CV, resignation letter, reference, or other document that demonstrates your situation could all be considered evidence.
Please keep in mind that if you answer ‘no’ to all of the Eligibility Check criteria, you can still submit a short supporting statement (150 words) explaining why you should be considered for scholarship possibilities despite not meeting the above criteria.
Section 2: Personal Statement Questions
Background and Financial Need: Provide a summary of your background and financial needs in 150 words.
Financial Planning & Preparation: Explain the steps you are doing to plan and prepare financially for your RCA studies (150 words).
Scholarship Benefits: Explain how a scholarship at RCA would assist you based on your current situation (150 words).
Future job ambitions: Explain your future job ambitions and what you view as the benefits of getting a scholarship beyond your studies at RCA (150 words).
