The World Bank Treasury Summer Internship in Washington, DC, will take place from May 27 to August 4, 2025. Interns will work full-time in the Treasury’s three rotating teams: Asset Management & Advisory, Capital Markets & Investments, Treasury Operations, and Pension & Endowments. Over ten weeks, you will receive personalized onboarding, participate in weekly conversations, and complete a capstone project.
Teams & Activities:
This summer, up to 16 interns will join Treasury’s 16 teams, each with their own rotation plan to ensure a diverse experience. Treasury is divided into four primary departments: Asset Management & Advisory, Capital Markets & Investments, Treasury Operations, and Pension & Endowments, as well as the Treasury Risk, Compliance, and Controls team. Interns will be assigned a mentor and coordinator for each rotation to provide advice. They will work on certain projects or tasks as assigned by their team. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a  World Bank Treasury Summer Internship Programme, applicants must meet these basic standards:
- Must be in the second to last year of a four-year college degree program with a demonstrated interest in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- Must be able to finish a college degree between December 2025 and September 2026.
- They must have an excellent academic record in their school or university.
- Internships need full-time availability, and concomitant job or training is not authorized.
What are the Characteristics of a Successful Applicant?
Successful applicants often have any or all of the following characteristics in addition to the core eligibility requirements:
- Prior paid employment experience, internships, or leadership in a financial group or club are strongly recommended.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation talents.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and develop successful relationships in order to fulfill the team’s goals.
- Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable to work on a variety of tasks with fast changing company objectives and priorities.
- Knowledge of computer languages such as Python, as well as specialized tools for handling and visualizing economic and financial data.
- Data management necessitates excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Capability to examine, retrieve, and process financial and economic data from a range of source systems and repositories, including Bloomberg, World Bank Group, and International Monetary Fund databases, as well as online sources;
- The strictest ethical standards.
- Being fluent in a second language is useful.

The Evaluation Procedure
