University of Padua Departmental Scholarships for International Students are presently accepting applications. Padua University’s departments provide scholarships to outstanding students worldwide for higher education in 2025-2026.
The following Departmental Scholarships are available to international students who wish to enroll in one of the degree programs taught in English. Tuition fee exemptions are not included in the Departmental Scholarships, although they are compatible with the 100 Fee exemptions Scholarships offered to deserving overseas applicants. Travel, insurance, lodging, and other costs are not reimbursed by the University of Padua through departmental scholarships.
These scholarships cannot be redeemed by recipients in conjunction with any other public university scholarships. When a candidate receives multiple scholarships, they must decide one to accept. Please look into comparable scholarships offered by Padua University in Itlay.

Host Departments and Scholarship Details
DICEA – Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering:
DICEA offers two scholarships for the Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and five scholarships for the Master’s degree in Mathematical Engineering. Each scholarship amount is about € 5,000 gross for the recipient.
Each scholarship has a one-year term and is paid for in two installments. The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process. After receiving a minimum of 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026, the second installment is due.
Department of Cultural Heritage
This Department offers one (1) scholarship for the English-taught Master’s degree program in Applied Sciences to Cultural Heritage Materials and Sites.
The recipient of the scholarship will get around €7,000 in gross compensation. Each scholarship has a one-year term and is paid for in two installments. The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process. After receiving a minimum of 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026, the second installment is due.
Department of Developmental Psychology and Socialisation (DPSS)
DPSS offers two (2) scholarships for the English-taught Master’s degree program in Developmental and Educational Psychology. The total amount of each scholarship is € 6,500 (gross for the recipient).
Each scholarship has a one-year term and is paid for in two installments. The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process. By the end of March 2026, after earning at least 12 ECTS, the second installment is due.
Department of Geosciences
Department of Geoscience offers three scholarships as follows:
- One (1) scholarship for the Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics.
- One (1) master’s degree scholarship for the English-taught program in Earth Dynamics
- One (1) scholarship for the Master’s degree in Geophysics for Natural Risks and Resources
For two academic years for Master’s students and three for Bachelor’s students pursuing a degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics, each scholarship is worth up to €6,000 (gross for the recipient).
For every academic year, the Department makes two payments toward the scholarship amount. The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process. By the end of March 2025, after earning at least 12 ECTS, the second installment is due. Additionally, the third is after earning 40 credits or more by the end of September 2026. After earning at least 90 ECTS by the end of September 2027, the scholarship is available for the third year of study for applicants pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Earth and Climate Dynamics.
Department of Industrial Engineering (DII)
DII total of six (6) scholarships as follows:
- Chemical and Process Engineering (Two scholarships for Master’s degree)
- Energy Engineering (Two scholarships for Master’s degrees)
- Materials Engineering (Two scholarships for the Master’s degrees)
For a single academic year, each scholarship is worth €7,500 (gross for the recipient). Two installments are due for the amounts. The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process. After receiving a minimum of 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026, the second installment is due.
Department of Information Engineering (DEI).
Totally seven (7) scholarships are available in DEI for international students for the current year as follows:
- ICT for Internet and Multimedia Master’s degrees (Two scholarships)
- Two scholarships for Master’s students in Computer Engineering
- Master’s in Control Systems Engineering (Two scholarships)
- For Master’s students in Electronic Engineering (Two scholarships)
- One scholarship for the English-taught Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering
The total payment for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross recipient). Each scholarship is valid for one academic year and is payable in two installments. The first installment is due upon enrollment completion and arrival in Italy. The second installment is due after earning at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026.
Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry
Students will benefit from two (2) scholarships for the Master’s degree in Forest Science. Total payment for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross recipient). Each scholarship is valid for one academic year and is payable in two installments. The first installment is due upon enrollment completion and arrival in Italy. The second installment is due after gaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026.
Department of Mathematics (DM)
Department of Mathematics scholarship details under the University of Padua Departmental Scholarships are as follows:
- Cybersecurity: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Data Science: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Computational Finance: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Computer Science: 2 scholarships (Master’s degree);
- Master’s degree in Mathematics 2 scholarships.
The total payment for each scholarship is € 6,000 (gross recipient). Each scholarship is valid for one academic year and is payable in two installments. The first installment is due upon enrollment completion and arrival in Italy. The second installment is due after gaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026. To receive the two second-year payments, beneficiaries must earn at least 40 ECTS by the end of September 2026 and 60 ECTS by the end of March 2027.
Department of Medicine (DIMED)
DIMED offers one (1) scholarship for the current year Single-cycle degree in Medicine and Surgery. Every award has a total value of €6,000 (gross for the recipient). Every scholarship is offered for a single academic year and must be paid for in two installments. The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process. After receiving a minimum of 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026, the second installment is due.
FISPPA – Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education, and Applied Psychology
FISPPA offers two scholarships for Master’s students in Clinical, Social, and Intercultural Psychology under the University of Padua Departmental Scholarships. Each scholarship has a total value of €6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is awarded for a single academic year and must be paid for in the following three installments:
- The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process.
- By the end of March 2026, after earning at least 12 ECTS, the second installment is due.
- After earning at least 36 ECTS by the end of July 2026, the third installment is due.
Department of Political Science, Law, and International Studies
- Two scholarships for a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance
- European and Global Studies: 2 scholarships for the Master’s degree applicants.
The total amount for each scholarship is € 5,760.37 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is available for one academic year and is payable in two installments as follows:
- First installment is upon enrolment completion procedures and arrival in Italy.
- Second installment is payable upon gaining at least 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026.
Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies (DISLL)
DISLL scholarship details under the University of Padua Departmental Scholarships are as follows:
- Master’s degree in Communication Strategies: One scholarship for the English-taught program.
- One scholarship for a master’s degree in English studies is available.
- One scholarship for a bachelor’s degree in Italian and Renaissance studies.
Each scholarship has a total value of €6,000 (gross for the recipient). Each scholarship is awarded for a single academic year and must be paid in the following two installments:
- The first payment is due when you arrive in Italy and finish the enrollment process.
- After receiving a minimum of 12 ECTS by the end of March 2026, the second installment is due.
Admission Requirements
University of Padua Departmental Scholarships eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Bachelor’s or single-cycle degree applicants must have a non-Italian upper secondary school certificate or a non-Italian bachelor’s degree in order to be eligible for Master’s degree programs.
- Should not be an Italian citizen, but rather someone with dual citizenship, including Italian.
- Must not already reside in Italy, but the following applicants to be residing in Italy:
- EU nationals and applicants who have lived continuously in Italy for more than nine months; non-EU nationals with a valid residency permit that permits enrollment at an Italian university.
- EU citizens are the same as citizens of Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, the Republic of San Marino, and Switzerland.
- Candidates should submit their applications by the deadlines for one or more of the University of Padua’s English-taught degree programs. Even three-degree programs are open to applicants.
University of Padua Departmental Scholarships Selection Procedure.
The Academic Committee of each degree program selects qualified candidates for shortlisting and grants scholarships to deserving applicants. The Committee takes into account the applicants’ primary school records, quality, and academic achievement in their field of study.
Applicants can check the scholarship selection results on the University of Padua’s official website by the above dates. If applicants score the same number, priority goes to the youngest candidate and those applying for the first time. In this case, the University reserves scholarships for candidates of the second application period on an exceptional basis.
How to Apply for University of Padua Departmental Scholarships?
Candidates must submit an admission application to the University of Padua in order to be considered for these scholarships. The University will take into account eligible candidates during the selection process. Other than those needed to apply for the chosen degree program, no extra supporting documentation or separate application is needed.
