This automatic entrance scholarship is intended for new full-time international Study Abroad students beginning in 2026. There is no separate application; simply apply to and enroll in one of the eligible programs listed below as a study abroad student from an international partner institution.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Otago Polytechnic Study Abroad Scholarship 2026, students must:
- As a new international student, enroll full-time in 2026.
- Study at Otago Polytechnic through a Study Abroad agreement with a partner institution.
- Complete the entry requirements for one of the eligible bachelor’s programs.
- Maintain enrollment as a full-time student (45-60 credits per semester)
- Not defer studies until 2027 or later.
Not Eligible If
- Enrolled part-time or decreased from full-time to part-time
- Deferring studies until 2027.
- Repeating failed courses (no scholarship is applicable to repeats)
- Studying under a pathway program that starts in 2027 or later.
Terms and Conditions.
- Scholarships apply only to the first year of study.
- Scholarships are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- If a student fails or withdraws, full tuition fees for previous or future semesters will apply.
Procedure for Making an Application
There is no separate application procedure. If you successfully enroll as a Study Abroad student in one of the eligible programs in 2026, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship award.
The Otago Polytechnic will issue:
- An admissions offer
- Scholarship deduction reflected in your fee statement.
- The remaining tuition fees must be paid.
