The KSJ (Knight Science Journalism) Fellowship Program is a fully funded program offered annually in the United States. This is a wonderful chance for individuals interested in studying a combination of sciences, technology, and journalism. Participants will have the opportunity to study and develop experience at highly ranked colleges throughout the world. The Knight Science Journalism Fellowship will be awarded to ten students from around the world. This research-based initiative will run for 9.5 years in the United States.
International students will embark on a research project in the subject of journalism, namely. So, this is an excellent platform for individuals who desire to thrive in the field of journalism. Participants in the KSJ Fellowship Program will use their abilities to do research and collect data from a variety of sources, making their data collection more reliable. They will have a variety of alternatives for presenting their research topics, including presentations, videos, recordings, and theoretical frameworks.
The KSJ Fellowship Program will be run under the supervision of research professionals, who will provide guidance to students on a regular basis. After completing this Fellowship Program, members are expected to give an oral presentation about their research topics. Selected research efforts will eventually be published as research articles or in journals, adding another feather to your cap. The curriculum will include social gatherings so that kids can spend time with people from various backgrounds.

Eligibility Criteria for KSJ Fellowship Program
- Only full-time journalists may apply. This applies to both staff and freelancing roles.
- Part-time writers and producers are not eligible.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in journalism, science, or health.
- Media writers, journalists, film makers, and media correspondents may apply.
- Participants should not have attended a previous four-month fellowship program within the last two years.

How to apply for the KSJ Fellowship Program
- Sign up for a free account on Submittable.
- Fill in the online application form.
- Attach all of the needed documentation.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Recommendation letters are encouraged before this deadline, however they can be submitted until January 21, 2025. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Between January and March, a panel of distinguished science journalists reviews the applications.
- Semifinalists are notified in early March and invited to video interviews. Non-semifinalists are also notified during this period.
Documents Required
- In no more than 500 words, explain why you want to participate in this program. Include your educational background, work details, honours and awards, and dates.
- An summary of the research study you want to conduct in this program.
- Five samples of your prior work.
- Three letters of recommendation will provide detailed information about the recommenders.
Requirements for the 2025-26 KSJ Program
After enrolling participants should:
- Get a passport from the United States State Department.
- Stay in Boston for 9.5 months to complete this program.
- Take part in all social and academic activities.
- Select at least one science course in each semester.
- Not get any paid research work done by anyone.
- Complete the assigned research project within the program time frame.
