The Iceland Writers Retreat Award 2025 is an international literary competition offering a fully financed trip to Iceland. Anyone who enjoys writing is welcome to apply to the Iceland Writers Retreat. In addition to literary fiction, nonfiction, and memoir, those interested in plays or poetry will benefit from the courses.
A two-day “Relax & Write” extension is available, giving applicants more time to go on tours, explore the town, buy souvenirs, or write in a local café. This event will feature a welcome dinner, buffet lunches, refreshments during session breaks, live music, and cocktail receptions in various locations throughout the city.

Eligibility Criteria for Iceland Writers Retreat Award 2025
- Candidates should be at least 18 years old.
- Winners must demonstrate that they are unable to attend the conference without this grant due to financial reasons.
- Candidates should be interested in improving their writing abilities.
- The writings should be connected to the writing kind of the competition, such as literary fiction, nonfiction, and memoir.
- Family members of the judges are not eligible to apply for this award.
- Candidates who have already attended Iceland Writers Retreat are not eligible to apply.

- Enter your personal details.
- Give links of your social media handles.
- Choose the type of money you’re applying for.
- Describe your writing background.
- Write/paste two writing samples with a maximum length of 1000 words.
- Explain why you need financial support.
- After attending, explain how you plan to spread the word about this event.
- Provide references and attach them to your application form.
- Please review and submit the form.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- After submission, you cannot make any changes to your application.
