Eligible Nationalities For Kazakhstan Government Scholarship
Open to applicants of all nationalities.
Qualifications for Eligibility
For those seeking a bachelor’s degree
- Must be making their first undergraduate application.
- A copy of a current ID or refugee certificate must be presented.
- An average grade of at least “good” on a high school diploma.
- English, Russian, or Kazakh motivational essay.
- Two recommendation letters from employers or educational institutions.
- Medical certifications, such as a report on an HIV/AIDS test.
- Academic documents that are not in English, Russian, or Kazakh must be translated notarized.

For Candidates for Master’s Degrees
- must be submitting a postgraduate application for the first time.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is required for a Bachelor’s or Specialist degree.
- Two recommendation letters and a motivational essay.
- HIV/AIDS test results and medical certification.
- Evidence of fluency in a foreign language, such as
- TOEFL iBT (minute 46)
- Academic IELTS (minute 5.5)
- DSH/TestDaF (German)
- In French, DELF, DALF, TFI, and TCF
- Level 4 HSK (Chinese)
Note: Students from nations where the official or prior language of study corresponds with the language of instruction are exempt from the requirement for language certificates.
Regarding Doctoral (PhD) Candidates
- a master’s or specialist degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or its equivalent.
- Two recommendations, a motivational essay, and medical records.
- As mentioned above, a foreign language certificate.
- Argument in English, Russian, or Kazakh for the dissertation topic.
