People from all over the world can now apply for the UN Nippon Foundation Training Program in Germany. In accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the Tribunal and Nippon Foundation together offer the nine-month curriculum on dispute resolution. Fellows will participate in the International Foundation for the Law of the Sea’s four-week Summer Academy at the start of this fully funded capacity building and training program. Young professionals working in maritime law and law of the sea will benefit from this training.
Fellows will engage in dialogue with their lecturers during a series of lectures for the ITLOS-Nippon Foundation Capacity-Building and Training Program. Judges from the Tribunal organization, Registry representatives, representatives from the United Nations and other international organizations, universities, law firms, and other pertinent institutions will be among the instructors. After receiving instruction on how to conduct research on law of sea conflicts and other ocean-related issues, participants will use the Tribunal’s library to study their own topic.
