Belgium’s 2025 Ghent University Doctoral Scholarships

  Benefits of the Ghent University Scholarships

  1. Ghent University provides a 24-month PhD fellowship.
  2. The university offers a monthly bench fee of €310 to cover research expenses, as well as a €8,000 travel budget.
  3. This scholarship helps to cover the student’s operating and travel expenses, as well as those of the Ghent University and local supervisors.

  Eligibility Criteria 

  • Candidates must belong to a developing country.
  • A candidate must submit a joint proposal with a Ghent University promoter and a South University promoter.
  • Research subjects should be development-specific.
  • Candidates interested in pursuing a combined PhD degree at Ghent University are encouraged.
  • Female students are preferred for this scholarship.

    Documents Required

    1. Advice on the candidate expresses the supervisor’s judgment of the individual’s potential as a future researcher.
    2. Provide advice on the ethical and biosafety elements of the proposed research study.
