Applications for Germany 2026 NHR Scholarships are now open for the 2026-2029 session. This funded scholarship program provides an excellent opportunity for students to pursue research studies in Germany. International students in Europe can receive a scholarship worth 2200 Euros per month for up to 3 years. Students will have the opportunity to work on advanced and innovative research projects in the field of High Performance Computing (HPC). They will be supervised by top researchers. Scholars will attend workshops and training programs led by professionals. These sessions will provide up-to-date knowledge and skills in high-performance computing.
The NHR scholarship program is only for students who are interested in high-performance computing. The fellowship program 2026 is open to students studying computer science, engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, or related fields. Selected students will work toward their Ph.D. at one of nine NHR Centres affiliated with German universities. These centres can be found in a variety of German cities. Each NHR centre offers a variety of research areas for Ph.D. theses. As part of the NHR PhD scholarship, students will conduct research at a different NHR Centre for 6 months, outside of their chosen focus.

The information will include focus topics, a link to a working group, professional prerequisites for applicants, required language skills, and a description of the supervisor and scientific institution. It will assist students in selecting the centre and topic that best suit their interests. The NHR research scholarship program will provide opportunities to network with leading professionals and researchers in the field of HPC. Along with studying and conducting research, students will participate in career coaching, soft skills training, and mentoring programs.

Eligibility requirements for Germany 2026 NHR Scholarships:
- Students of all genders and backgrounds are welcome to apply for PhD scholarships at NHR.
- Applicants must hold a master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, engineering, or a related field.
- Applicants must meet the admission requirements for doctoral studies at the respective NHR Centre.
- Applicants must read and adhere to the additional acceptance requirements outlined in the subject-specific doctoral regulations.
- Applications that are incomplete will not be considered.
