The Basic Eligibility and the Requirements of the ADB-JSP
Citizenship and Age:
- You must be a citizen and current resident of an ADB Member country.
- You must be no more than 35 years old at the time of application.
Academic Background:
- You must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) at the time of application. This could include:
- A master’s degree lasting one year and a bachelor’s degree lasting three years.
- Two years of master’s study coupled with a two-year bachelor’s degree. (The program may examine the equivalency.)
Work Experience:
- After earning your degree from an accredited university, you must have at least two years of full-time professional work experience.
English Language Proficiency:
- You must have taken an English proficiency test within the past two years and achieved a minimum score of:
- TOEFL (paper-based): 550
- TOEFL (computer-based): 213
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based): 79-80
- Duolingo: 95
- IELTS: 6.5

Application Process for the University of Hawaii ADB Scholarship?
There are two steps in the application process:
Part 1: Admission Application: The candidate must have a proof of admission from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in order to submit the scholarship application.
A separate application for admission to a Master’s program at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa must be submitted, together with any necessary supporting documentation.

Party 2 Apply for the ADB Scholarship: Once you have an admission offer, you can apply for the ADB Scholarship at the University of Hawaii. The East-West Center manages applications for the ADB-JSP Scholarship every year.
By December 1st, 2024, applicants must submit their ADB scholarship application to the University of Hawaii.
