Harvard Scholars Program (PhD in Social Science $80,000 award Scholarship)

The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies’ Academy academics Programme seeks for and supports outstanding academics who are beginning their academic careers. Those having exceptional skills in social sciences, fluency in a foreign language, and knowledge of countries or regions beyond the US and Canada. Academy Scholars will work as residential postdoctoral fellows for two years at Harvard University’s Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The fellows will get significant financial and research support to perform challenging research projects and expand their knowledge in respective disciplines.

Fellows will discuss new multidisciplinary approaches to their work during informal gatherings such as dinners, lectures, and social events. The Harvard Academy Senior Scholars, a group of academics who participate on the selection committee, will supervise the fellows.

Eligibility Criteria For Harvard Scholars Program

Fellows ought to meet these prerequisites:

• Ph.D. holders or holders of comparable doctorate degrees may apply for the rewards within two years after their initiation on August 1, 2025.
• Applicants with advanced doctorates in social sciences are allowed to apply.
• Scholars completing their dissertations must be able to send in degree conferral paperwork from their university registrar’s office by June 30, 2025, in order to begin on August 1, 2025.
• Applications for this program are not accepted from anyone who is presently or has previously had a Harvard postdoctoral fellowship.

Required Documents

The following should be included in the completed application:

• CV or resume, including a list of publications
• One O.N.E. sample, written in English, may be submitted. It should be a piece of scholarly writing, such a chapter from a doctorate dissertation or an article from a peer-reviewed publication.
• A research proposal should be no more than 2000 words long and should include intellectual objectives as well as planned methodological and disciplinary actions.
• Transcript of the Ph.D. program in copy
• Three letters of endorsement
